Energy for the dayĮating a healthy breakfast containing fiber, protein, and fat can serve as your fuel source for the rest of the day. What does this mean? It means you are going to crave that simple sugar fix and end up overeating (typically junk food) later on in the evening. When we skip breakfast after fasting the entire evening, our blood sugar levels drop to excessively low levels.
Sound familiar? We’ve all been there, and whether we skip breakfast entirely or settle for some on the go pastry or sweets to accompany our morning latte, we are doing our body a huge disservice! Let me explain 5 reasons why skipping breakfast for the snooze button is going to hurt you in the long run. You hustle and bustle, get in and out of the shower in record speed, brush your teeth while you comb your hair, throw on the first outfit you see and race out of the door! You make it to work just on time and head straight to the staff room to get your morning cup of coffee. You close your eyes promising yourself “just 5 more minutes.” Next thing you know its 6:36 and you've only got 24 minutes to get out the door or otherwise you are going to be late!! Your first reaction is to hit snooze and turn over. It’s 6:00 am your alarm is violently ringing, and the world is still completely black.
